POSITION TITLE: Part Time Snack Bar Attendant                     DEPARTMENT: Golf    


POSITION CODE: PT-625                                                          FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt


POSITION REPORTS TO: Golf Pro, Assistant Golf Pro            EMPLOYEE CLASS: Part-Time


POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None                                


BLS COMPARABLE: 35-3022.00 Counter Attendants, Cafeteria, Food Concession, and Coffee Shop

Leadership: Provides co-worker leadership to others through motivation, team building,

and providing feedback.

POSITION PURPOSE: To enhance the quality of life of Enid residents and guests by providing an enjoyable experience of the Snack Bar and provision of excellent customer service.


  • Serve food and beverages to customers.
  • Compute charges for food and beverages; receive payments.
  • Cook and/or prepare food items, such as sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers, and french fries, using kitchen equipment such as a fryer, grill and preparation station.
  • Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes, to keep equipment and facilities sanitary.
  • Balance receipts and payments in cash registers.
  • Greet customers, take food orders and provide information about menus.
  • Receive inventory, move and lift food and beverage products and supplies.
  • Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating and checking temperature of products.
  • Stock, drive and sell snacks and beverages from the beverage cart.
  • Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products, or personnel.
  • Perform other duties as required



  • The Snack Bar runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Excellent customer service is provided to customers.
  • The Snack Bar appears clean and user friendly.
  • Cash registers are accurately balanced and all revenues are documented.
  • Effective working relations exist with City personnel.
  • New employees are well trained and assisted. Management is appropriately informed.
  • Employee understands and adheres to applicable safety policies.
  • The City’s professional reputation is maintained.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:                  Six months to one year related experience preferred.


CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:                  None.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:                    Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.


Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.     


English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.


SKILLS/ABILITIES:                              Ability to use cash register and make change.

Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

                                                           Accurate and attentive to detail.

Excellent communications and public relations abilities.

Ability to assist and support others.

Able to operate telephone, computer, other basic business machines.



FINGER DEXTERITY:                      Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.

VISUAL ABILITIES:                          Normal vision, with or without corrective lenses.


PHYSICAL STRENGTH:                   PDC Level: Light Employee lifts/carries 20 lbs occasionally (less than 33% of the time or 1-100 times per day). Position requires occasional overhead reaching; kneeling, squatting, stooping and bending.


LANGUAGE/COMPREHENSION:     Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

REASONING ABILITY:                     Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.


MATHEMATICS ABILITY:                 Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units or measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to computer rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS:      Part Time – no more than 28 hours per week. Hours vary with season.


Other–Variable lunch period and breaks in coordination with other personnel.

WORK CONDITIONS:                Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor snack bar setting with adequate ventilation.


Noise level:                             Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

3-5 years related experience.

6+ years related experience.

Knowledge of golf course operations.

Associate’s Degree or equivalent in related field.

Basic accounting skills or training.

Supervisory skills.

Public relations skills.

Advanced knowledge of golf course operations.

Valid CPR certification.

Assumes additional responsibility in absence of Golf Pro.

Knowledge of safety as it applies to job.
